Greeting from President and Invitation to 2022 EASE On

Wishing you and your family good health and happiness! 

I am pleased to inform of the upcoming online conference “ Broadening the horizons of science education for new global challenges and opportunities”, which will take place on 25-26 July 2022 in Daegue, Korea.

The conference will bring together East-Asian representatives from school, ministry of education, university, research centers and public authorities related to science education to explore and discuss opportunities and strengths related to scientifically literate civil education for sustainable and valuable communities in East-Asian regions. Most of all it will be more meaningful for us to share our friendships and cheer up each other to celebrate ‘getting back to normal’ era.

I am so proud to announce that the new academic journal of the EASE. The tentative title of the journal is ‘Bulletin of EASE’.  The first issue will be composed of the full version of your presented papers of 2022 conference after peer- review process followed by the conference in July, 2022. 

The 2022 EASE online conference hopefully will be served as stepping stone for the off-line and biennial meeting of the EASE members with full ranges of interactions. The manuscript will be submitted from January of 2022. Please prepare your paper now for the meeting.

10 Years Little's Scientist House Thailand Project: STEM Education for Early Childhood

Little Scientists’ House Project is one of the most significant impact projects for
enhancing early childhood STEM education in Thailand. It has been launched for
over 10 years since 2010 leading by Khun Ying Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sumontha
Promboon, EASE Distinguished Contribution Award 2021,
with 8 public-private
collaboration core organizations. Recently, over 29,000 schools under 232 local
educational networks participate in this project. Children’s STEM learning and
interest in science and technology are significantly increased by this project as

The CoSci Virtual Lab – An interactive, collaborative, and friendly online environment for physics learning

The CoSci Virtual Lab (https://cosci.tw/), standing for “Collaboration” and “Science Learning”, is developed by Professor Chen-Chung Liu (National Central University), Emeritus Professor Fu-Kwun Hwang (National Taiwan Normal University) and Professor Francisco Esquembre (Universidad de Murcia). Specifically, to facilitate physics learning, this platform allows students to conduct physics experiment collaboratively and to explore and examine their science ideas with physics simulations. Over 100 virtual labs for various scientific concepts in physics are freely available on the platform.  [ Read more. ]

2021 Korean Science Education in Elementary school

The purpose of this study was to describe what happened in the classroom narrowed down science education. The former part was how to change of the classroom situation under Covid 19. First of all, students had less opportunities to do group activities. In addition, students were not able to go to the science lab. The latter part was the story from students who had difficulty in science class. As a result of interview, there were common things among them.

Between Science and Democracy, The Nature, Communication, and Education of Science

This article first sets the background of the development of the democratization of science. Then, by means of an analysis of a referendum issue in Taiwan between 2020 and 2021, we pointed out that democratic “participation” in socio-scientific issues (SSI) decision making is indeed very complex.
